As you will know, while Rod and Myriam were busy making the arrangements for the anniversary celebrations, Paul Vismé was doing a great deal of archival research to document the beginnings of the AWW in words and pictures, and in gathering brief biographies of some of the Walkers. For the record, here are the links to those collections of memories.

There is a great deal in there. Be careful, don´t get lost.
More memories: Myriam preserved two AWW songs from the past and here they are together with her comments:-
“Many years ago, Gita wrote this song and composed the music. We sang it in her house.”
“A couple of years back, Mike gave Paul a pile of maps and related materials. Among them was this verse written to the tune of a song ( I don't know which).
He wrote the word "Destroy" on it.
But I kept it and made a note.”
At the lunch, this wee memento was on display and, again, Myriam has something to say about it:-
"Os Caminheiros de Algarve Walkers"!!
Maurice coined this name. It sounds funny now, being "luso-inglês", half and half!!
But no one contested, so it stayed. Since 1994 (?), he produced these badges to raise money for various charities. He had an auditor, Alan Williamson, to check the annual accounts!! Unlike some leaders operating in the name of charities!!
I only discovered this one by chance on the morning of our anniversary. At the last minute, I was clearing a drawer for Marg, and found a box which I had not opened for a long time. In it, on top of the "junk", was this badge!!
All these are jerking my memory. If I remember anything else, will report to you.”
And finally, Myriam´s souvenir T-shirt:-
And that´s it.
